FAQs

What does OON (out-of-network) mean?

Some healthcare providers are contracted with insurance companies to provide services, where your insurance pays for part of your visit and you may pay a co-pay for that service. OON providers are not contracted with insurance companies, meaning you (the client) pays a fee up front, and can submit what is called a superbill (detailed receipt of your session) for the session and later gets reimbursed by insurance. OON allows providers to provide more individualized care. Clients may also pay using their health savings account (HSA).

Call your insurance and ask-

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental health care?

  • What is my deductible? Do OON services apply to my deductible?

  • What is the max amount I pay for OON mental health services?

  • How does OON reimbursement work?

*This does NOT apply to coaching services, which are not psychotherapy.

I’ve been to therapy before. How will this experience be different?

Having a therapist who specializes in the treatment of ADHD, versus a general therapist who sees people of multiple different diagnoses, allows me to cater care to you and your experiences. Through my ADHD-CCSP certification, and working with teens and young adults with ADHD, I have the knowledge to tailor sessions (therapy AND coaching) to provide holistic and current strategies that work.

I’m a parent, and my teen does not want my help. Can I still do parent coaching sessions?

Yes, absolutely- in fact, this is why I offer coaching! For many parents, there is a struggle to be on the same page as your child and teen, as you can often be met with a lot of resistance to some strategies that are often touted to work. Coaching allows you to further understand your child/teen’s behavior through an ADHD lens, be able to respond different with less power struggles at home, and create healthy boundaries that help both you and your teen improve the home environment.
